How we rank

1. The building first

Every entry is judged as a hotel: its site, its architecture, its rooms and what is within walking distance. The gaming floor is recorded as one facility and never decides a position.

2. No scores, no stars

There is no points system and no aggregated guest rating. The order is an editorial judgement, and the reasoning is in the review text rather than hidden behind a number.

3. Nothing is paid for

No property, group or agency pays to appear or to move up. We use no affiliate links and no booking engine.

What we look at

Area	Questions we ask
Setting	Is the location a reason to go? What can you reach on foot?
Building	Does the architecture or history make the stay distinctive?
Rooms	Size, outlook and how much they vary between wings or towers.
Facilities	Spa, pools, dining, gardens, theatre — what you would use without the casino.
Fit	Who the hotel suits best, stated plainly in the "Best for" line.

Updates

We review the list periodically and whenever a hotel announces major changes such as a renovation or closure. The date above the ranking shows when it was last checked.
